Terms of Service

[LEGAL REVIEW] — This document is a plain-English draft prepared by the Kukbuk team. It must be reviewed by a qualified solicitor before public launch.

1. What Kukbuk is

Kukbuk is an assistive meal-planning service operated by studystrEAKs Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC865254), registered office c/o Smith & Wallace & Co., 1 Simonsburn Rd, Kilmarnock, Scotland, KA1 5LA. You can contact us at hello@studystreaks.co.uk.

You give Kukbuk recipes and the people you cook for; it helps you plan a week, check meals against everyone's dietary needs, and produce a shopping list. It also lets kitchen members split costs informally.

2. Account eligibility

You must be 13 or older to hold an account. Adults may create profiles for children in their household; those profiles are managed by the adult until the child claims them.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use the service for anything illegal, don't submit other people's content without permission, and don't try to break or abuse our systems.

4. Subscriptions and pricing

  • The free plan is unlimited for solo use and includes 5 AI captures per calendar month.
  • Premium is currently £1/month — "founder pricing". Once subscribed, you keep the £1/month rate for as long as the subscription remains active and unbroken. If your subscription lapses, resubscribing is at the current new-user price.
  • Billing is handled by Stripe. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the current billing period.
  • If you keep a multi-person kitchen and cancel, the kitchen continues in a 30-day grace period so another member can take over as keeper before any read-only state begins.
  • Refunds follow your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

5. Food safety disclaimer

Important. Allergy and dietary checking is an assistive tool based on the information you enter and on AI parsing of recipes. It can be wrong or incomplete. You must verify ingredients and packaging labels yourself, especially for severe allergies. Storage and freezing guidance is general information, not a guarantee of safety. Kukbuk is not medical advice.

6. Cost sharing

Cost-sharing features are informational. Kukbuk does not move money and is not a party to settlements between members of a kitchen.

7. AI-generated content

Recipes, ingredient lists, fridge scans, spice-rack scans, suggested swaps, cost estimates and nutritional figures are produced or assisted by AI. They can contain errors and should be treated as approximations.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any loss arising from your use of Kukbuk is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
